Hotel Description

Looking for Lake District accommodation at excellent value for money? Looking to spend some time in the beautiful Lakes? The White Rose in Windermere is close to the village centre and is a 4* Guest House (rated by VisitBritain). This traditional Lakeland house was built in 1817, and now, nearly two hundred years later, offers excellent accommodation in attractive en-suite bedrooms that are warm and welcoming. We have six very attractively decorated bedrooms and all have those little extra touches that will ensure a great stay in Windermere. There are 4 standard en-suite double rooms, a larger double bedroom which also has a comfortable sofa to ensure you have a relaxing evening, and a second floor bedroom with a zip and link bed - which means that the bedroom can be used as a twin bedroom or as a king sized double bedroom. We have one ground floor bedroom which is accessed through a small courtyard area at the back of the house. Three bedrooms are on the first floor of the house and there are two bedrooms on the second floor of the house. All bedrooms have an en-suite shower and toilet - with toiletries included. Our bedrooms also have a digital TV and a DVD player, a hospitality tray, a hairdryer, and an alarm clock radio. If you are bringing your laptop, we offer our guests free WIFI access. We are only a couple of minutes, walk from the centre of Windermere village, a ten minute walk from Windermere station and a 5 minute drive from the lake. We have some wonderful walks that can be taken from the house - and we can let you have all the maps and guides you will need - which should ensure you can make the most of your time in this outstandingly beautiful area. We offer very competitive rates and run special three and four night deals available through much of the year. Just ask for details of our current offers. A Wise Booking
Easy to find with good car parking The Owls Crest offers a warm welcome , a comfortable bed and a room with all the nice touches most often found in much more expensive hotels. Booking to stay at Owls Crest was a wise move.

Very Frieindly
As a group of young men, were made to feel very welcome. And as we booked the wrong location, they had no qualms about cancelling our booking and even tried to find us somewhere nearer Cardiff were we came to watch the boxing. Lovely place, I may return and actually stay next time with my partner. Thanks for your help!

Lovely Warm Friendly Welcome
A lovely welcome from Michael when we arrived with us following him to a wide parking bay which was much appreciated as we were in a hire car!!

We followed his advice on where to eat and enjoyed a beautiful evening meal with great views. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh melon, english plums, bananas etc and a choice of cereals and brown and white bread followed by a really yummy full english breakfast. A lovely family run guest house. Really recommend it.

Very Welcoming Friendly And Helpful
Micheal met us in the car park and took our suitcases, he was aware my husband had dementia, very accommodating to our needs.

Everything you need for overnight stay in bathroom if you forget anything, beautiful fluffy white towels.

My only issue is the £1.50 debit card fee that we did not know about when we booked with booking.com. Wonderful accommodation.Wonderful hosts and lovely breakfast.

Excellent Traditional B+b With Lovely Staff, Great Breakfast And Dog Friendly .
Excellent traditional non-modern B+B. Lovely owners, great breakfast, super shower and pet friendly. On-site parking and wifi too. Close to super restaurant. Be aware \'tho that local roads are narrow so walking between places or driving/parking a big 4x4 can be a bit tricky! Also note that Kewstoke is a pleasant isolated village which NOT similar to - or within easy walking reach of - Weston Super Mare. If you want a very quiet stay, and nice walks on a huge but almost empty beach then this is the place for you! Downsides? Bed maybe a bit too firm.

Friendly B&b
Had a really nice weekend at the Owls Crest, just outside of Weston, in a quiet village, buses ran every 20 min\'s. Michael the owner is a nice friendly bloke, the rooms are clean and have tea/coffee, the shower was hot and needed after travelling. breakfast was full English but if you wanted something else they could accommodate, happy we stayed here and not an impersonal hotel.

Friendly, Comfortable And Good Value For Money
From the moment we arrived to when we left Michael was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a good ensuite and thick, fluffy towels. There was adequate storage for clothes, small TV and tea & coffee making facilites. Everything you need for a short trip to Weston. There is a bus stop outside the B&B, but the last bus into Weston is around 6.30pm, so we used a very efficient Taxi service instead.

Distance 0.34 miles (0.54 km)
There can be few more historic places to test your handicap than at the long-established Worlebury Golf Club, near Weston super Mare. It was founded in 1908 by Henry Butt, a local philanthropist, with a group of like minded prominent businessmen, initially for their own enjoyment. This traditional parkland course offers all the challenges of golf in a hilly terrain - with an excellent mix of holes providing a stiff challenge to both low and high handicappers, under the watchful eye of club professional Gary Marks, club captain Martin Ford and club secretary Mike Wake.

Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club - Weston-Super-Mare - Golf

Distance 2.59 miles (4.14 km)
Our Course, which was officially opened on the 24th September 1892, is unusual. It is by the seaside, but is not truly a seaside links in the sense that dunes do not form part of the challenge but are rather the seaward boundary of the course. There are few trees on the course, more likely large shrubs. The overall impression is of wide horizons and masses of sky. In summer the greens are fast and true, the fairways tight and the rough punishing. In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees, just occasionally, depending on the weather, it may be necessary to use temporary greens but this is no more than a few days each year.

Brean Golf Club - Burnham-On-Sea - Golf

Brean Golf Club - Burnham-On-Sea - Golf

Distance 6.26 miles (10.02 km)
Welcome to Brean Golf Club. Golf enthusiasts will love Brean Golf Club! It's an 18 hole, 5715 yard, par 69 course, located at Brean Leisure Park, in approximately 100 acres of lush green meadowland. Water features come into play on many of the holes providing formidable hazards to the flat landscape. The greens are irrigated by a popup sprinkler and since the fairways are cut from meadowland, they remain lush even in drought and are well drained. Hence you'll find the course is seldom closed. Plus, with the course being on the coast, you'll find the fresh winds and breezes add to the challenge of the course!
