Used as an overnight stay for Edgbaston cricket ground, which is a shortish cab ride away, organised by reception. Suited our needs perfectly. Huge car park and CCTV are major plus points, clean, good size rooms inc. bathroom. Tea & coffee facilities, friendly, helpful and organised staff, mobile/wi fi reception excellent, nice bar & lounge area. Didn't eat there so cannot comment on food, we had to be on the road early next day. OK, the curtains could do with a scrub up or replacement, and the TV didn't have a great reception, not that we needed it much - I suppose for a totally honest review it's fair to mention minor points. But for £45, it's fantastic value for money and very glad we found it on the internet at short notice.

Nec Visit
Second time staying here, very convenient for the NEC bike show and value for money. Although three hotel is showing its age in the decor and luxury department the linen was clean, water hot, heating worked and the breakfast was excellent which made for a good stay. Staff are friendly to. Plenty of parking. My average rating is based on building quality so for every thing good I've mentioned above it would be a 5. I believe the owners are fairly new and it may take them a good few years to decorate such a spacious hotel which was run down by previous management. Keep the good work up.

It is only in the last few seasons that the Blues have began to rid themselves of the tag of 'perennial under-achievers'. Birmingham's history is littered with disappointments and near-misses, and 1963's League Cup success stands out not because they defeated arch-rivals Aston Villa in the final but because it remains the only time they have won a major trophy. Promoted to the Premiership via a penalty shoot-out in 2002's Division One Play-Off Final after a 16-year absence from the top-flight, the Blues performed creditably last season and avoided the drop comfortably. Backed by David Gold's millions, it remains to be seen whether they can match or beat their highest top-flight position (sixth in 1956), but at least they're finally getting closer...
