Royal Troon Golf Club - Troon - Golf

Distance 2.2 miles (3.52 km)
Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts Troon Golf Club soon outgrew its purely local reputation. The Old Course today presents a stern golfing examination and in particular the inward half of Royal Troon is widely accepted as the most demanding of any Course on the Championship rota. OLD COURSE: One of the great links courses in Scotland, the Old Course is a challenging test of golfing ability. PORTLAND COURSE: Although a links course, the Portland is a little more sheltered than the Old Course and, of course, shorter. PAR 3 COURSE: The Par 3 Course consists of nine holes and the small greens present a series of tricky targets.
