Located to the west of the Ichinoseki city, it is the highest peak in Kurikoma National Park. The area is filled with natural beauty which includes groves of virgin beech trees, alpine plants,colorful foliage, etc. It is visited by many mountain-climbing enthusiasts, who go to the nearby hot springs to relax after they have seen the majestic mountain scenery. Ichinoseki Summer Festival; A bustling festival where 20 to 30 portable shrines are gathered from neighboring areas, and the town is decorated with festive ornaments. The big parade welcomes any participant to join. One of the most famous firework displays in Northeastern Japan is held on Friday evening by the Iwai River as part of the festival.
